Research Areas
In collaboration, our network is positioned to tackle the most important challenges impacting child health, including prenatal risk factors, family context, emotional wellbeing, health behaviours and health service delivery.
The UQ Child Health Research Network spans two faculties and two university research institutes.
The Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
M+BS has combined three research intensive schools, and five hospital-based institutes and centres to achieve broad coverage of the ‘translational pipeline.’
The Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences
The Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences was established in 2014 to provide a strong, unified voice for the non-medical health professions (within UQ and beyond).
The Queensland Brain Institute
The quality of work produced by QBI researchers is demonstrated by the Institute’s National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Australia Research Council (ARC) grant success.
The Institute of Molecular Biosciences
The IMB's mission is to decipher the information contained in the genes, proteins and molecules of humans, animals and plants.
Our research traverses basic biomedical, clinical, public health, and social science research.
In translation, our research aims to prevent childhood illness and injury, to improve treatment outcomes for sick and injured children, and to provide an improved evidence-base for health policy and community intervention in child health.
